This is a page setup for all the people who knew and loved Peter I thought it would be a fitting tribute to let everyone express just how much Peter meant to us all Ross McLellan (Peter's Web Editor for over 15 years) Sadly due to rude and selfish individuals abusive and junk posts will be removed from this page, note this is a tribute page not a grudges or score settling page |

It was my pleasure to have known and on occassion worked with Peter for over a dozen years.Indeed just weeks before his death we crossed paths in Cecil Court where his rasping voice and bell were perfectly audible a mile away.Always larger than life the old town will not seem the same.Peter, rest in peace and when I come and join you let your bell ring out! Alan

Peter, you were a wonderful friend and colleague and i am most saddened to think that you will no longer be around to liven London life and to gossip with me on the South Bank. You lived life to the full my friend and how many can truly say that? Take care and rest in peace Adrian

I have only known Peter for less than a year, we've corresponded, talked on the phone, planning his visit to our club, hoping to meet and, finally, talk face to face, he seemed such a warm person... He was fascinated by what I have told him about the club and was looking forward to our meeting... It feels that I have lost a great friend, though I have never met him in flesh. Now I know I never will, but he always felt so much bigger than that. He has always been a great spirit embracing everyone who knew him. He will always be with me now as much as with all of you...

We were shocked to lern his passing away at our Club where he was a member from about 1978 until 2008. He had been the President for the year 1981/2. We would have liked to know more and establish a contact with some one who can advise us more details. May his soul rest in peace.

I often saw Peter around Whitehall, especially when there were special events going on in Trafalgar Square. He was a great character, friendly and a god advert for London and Britain. He will be missed.

i first met peter five years ago at an official function of the lord mayor of westminster. since then, i've bumped into him here, there, and everywhere around central london and especially at covent garden. it saddens me to hear of his sudden passing. but was delighted to read of the noisy farewell yesterday at st. george's roman catholic cathedral at where his fellow town criers did him rightful honour at his funeral mass. i will shortly write my own little blog story about having known him with much pleasure. truly, uncle monty. +st. sebastian, 2010.
